A cara,

Really appreciated your article, last this year I attended the Birmingham St. Patrick's day parade in full Irish Volunteer uniform complete with a flag of the period and never felt prouder. If you require a copy of the image please let me know.

Is mise le meas

Your Article posted here on the various types of Irish Volunteers uniforms and accoutrements is Brilliant work!! You have successfully touched on a much needed subject that few have ever dealt with. I have been a collector of Irish & Irish American Militiria of the 1798-1920 period for a number of years now and I have been finding it increasing hard and difficult to get straight and in depth information on these period materials. Currently, I am associated with the reenactment group here in the States known as the 3rd Cork flying Brigade, you may have heard of us?? We represent the period 1916-1920 of Irish Volunteers & Cork Brigade I.R.A. As I had mentioned before, Information is at a premium here in the States. But information in your articles posted here are of enormous help to us. I have a question that needs to be resolved for me if you would ? You had mentioned in the Irish Volunteers Uniform Article section that you had seen on the original 1916 period uniform the back makers marks on the I.V Harp buttons in Kilmainham gaol museum. What is the makers name of whom made the first and original 1916 period I.V. Buttons?? I would highly appreciate any info that you might have concerning this subject. Looking forward to your reply. Stay in touch if you would?? Cheers!! Tom Butler
